Sandra
DesJardins resides in the Owen Sound, Ontario. She is an abuse
survivor who custom crafts Ojibway style basketry from Adirondack
Mountain natural materials. As a survivor of domestic abuse and
violence, she wrote the book "Wounded Heart, Soaring Spirit"
to help assist in the healing process. Sandra is of Metis, Ojibway,
French and Cree descent. Basket making as an art form is both
beautiful and functional. Oil painting, watercolors, and other artist
mediums are used in her expressive paintings. All are orginal and
inspired by both the person requesting the art work and her own
feelings.Basket weavers, artists, atisans and craftsmen residing
Canada of Native descent.
